Meals for four days!

I had a new unfurnished apartment, and I overspent, in the attempt to get it furnished.

I ended up with 4 days to go before my next check, very little food in the pantry, as I assessed the situation, I reminded God of His promise .... ask, and it is given, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you. matt. 7 7.

Because I doubted God, and because I was new in the neighborhood, and wasn't about to ask for food, I did the next best thing, I cried!

Was it even 20 minutes?...A knock at my door, and there stood the only neighbor I was even acquainted with, she referred me to the apartment, now she held a huge salad bowl full of steaming 'chili mac', she apologizes for disturbing me, and says that she made enough for an army, and would I please help her eat it. It was my favorite food, but I wondered if it would stretch the four days. II had a big helping when my neighbor next door, told me about being called out of town by her daughter, and she just knew that everything in her 'frig' would have mold growing on it by the time she got back to it, so she offered me a job cleaning it in exchange for everything in it.

There was sandwich meat, salad makings, condiments, bread, fruit chilling, everything a new clean 'frig' like mine would need for at least two weeks.

Just ask, I am not the only one who has God for my 'Father' He is your 'Father' also. '

'Snatched' out of the lake!

Psalms 91,11 says... For he shall give his angels charge over thee, lest at any time, thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thats the only way that I can explain me and my sister, 10 and 12 years old, chest deep in lake water, a few feet from the dock, were instantly able to 'hit the dock a running' when we heard a splash and saw a water moccasin poisonous snake swimming for us, I sware I don't remember wading towards the dock, climbing up the ladder to the dock, just instantly being on the dock, with my legs in a running stride, both me and my sister.

When I and my sister alerted the 'adults' in the family, the snake was sunning itself on our dock.

We had vacationed at that cabin on the lake many years and never had a close brush with a moccasin but after that we took cautions.

Divine Hair Style!

All I remember Thinking is..."Lord, I guess I'm going to your house, with my hair looking like hell". On this Sunday, my natural wave was doing its own thing, one side turning up, another side turning down. To better control it I used hairspray, only to have it get sticky. I was having the 'mother' of all 'bad hair days', outside was a downpour of rain.

My ride arrived and I raced for the car, as fast as I could, and likewise from the church parking lot into the church.

As I walked in, the greeter stated how well my hair looked, and I thought she was just trying to be nice, but shortly after another person remarked "Wow! who did your hair?"

By this time, I was looking for a mirror. and went to the ladies room. My hair was perfect, the wave continued around my head, not a hair out of place, not a space between any two strands, absolutely perfect!

It reminded me of the large flock of birds that swoop and dive and change directions, all as if they were one bird, without ever crashing into each other, nor any bird going the wrong way, they too are perfect.

A Long Distence '911' Call.

What can you do, when a stroke is rapidly paralyzing your right hand, and your trying to call '911' always , call God. I said "please help me God," and my left pinkie swiped over my daughter's name, I heard her on the phone immediately saying, saying, "Mom, are you alright?"

She placed the call for me, when the ambulance paramedics told her I had a stroke, she drove her car for 10 hours straight, to join me in the emergency room.

She did what was needed for the new life situation.

A purple teddy bear !

At the nursing home where I live happily, since the stroke, it was discovered that a small stuffed white lamb, was the perfect 'thing'.to keep my paralyzed hand from scratching me, but being white, like the sheets, it eventually got lost in them and was sent to the laundry, who did not know that it belonged to me, so I missed it for three months.

I remember wishing it were some color like purple.

A short time later, the nursing home was visited by a 'Shriner' Santa and his 'helpers'. They gave every resident a candy cane, except me, I got a purple teddy bear, which became my prized possession.
